Hair Breathing (Part 5)

This week we will complete our study of hair breathing techniques. The latest technique in this area is “eyebrow breathing.” The eyebrows are a by-product of the activity of the tendons and correspond to the liver.

I believe you are already convinced that Taoists view the human body as a single system of interconnected organs. With the help of the hair breathing exercise, we give the body additional energy boost. The eyebrow breathing exercise supplies the body with excess energy from the tendons, which has a positive effect on them.

It often happens that in the process of studying Taoist yoga you reach a certain energy level at which further advancement seems problematic. However, sooner or later a person overcomes the qualitative threshold and comes to a new understanding of how the system “works”. I hope you have already experienced something similar. If not, it could happen today, tomorrow or later. It is not possible for us to know when this will happen.

Healthy and elastic tendons have a positive effect on the liver, which in turn affects the wood element and balances all five elements. The wood element has a beneficial effect on the eyes and, in particular, on the iris. The eyes begin to smile more often, and this smile has a healing effect on the entire body.

According to Taoist theory, the eyes are the positive centers (pure yang) of the body. This means that the rest of the body in relation to the eyes is negative (yin). The polar division of the body (by analogy with a battery, where there is a “plus” and a “minus”) is one of the greatest secrets of Taoist yoga. The first section of the alchemical treatise “The Secret of the Golden Flower” says: “... you cannot see the heavenly light. It's focused in the eyes."
As you can see, “eyebrow breathing” refers to phenomena that appear on a level that is not accessible to conscious perception. The correct use of the techniques and methods of Taoist yoga involves a “three-step approach” to harmonizing the “three treasures”: breath, body and mind (qi, jing and shen). Strengthening one of the “treasures” entails automatic strengthening of the corresponding organs.

However, if one of the “treasures” is strengthened at the expense of the other two (for example, you give preference to the exercises of the “third treasure” and neglect the others), the balance of the elements is disrupted. I would like to remind you once again that all “three treasures” must be balanced.
I have no doubt that over the past four weeks you have experienced a lot of interesting things and achieved certain results.
Gradually, step by step, I will teach you all aspects of the unique Taoist concept of breathing. This week I'm going to summarize the material I've covered and fill in any remaining gaps. Not only will you learn how to do the eyebrow breathing exercise, but you will also learn how to breathe through the hair of your entire body.

The ultimate goal of “hair breathing” is the formation of the energy shell of the body. Throughout the course of classes you will perform these exercises and as a result will learn how to create a “rainbow aura”. This way, your body will be surrounded by a full spectrum of colors, including red, yellow, white, blue and green. The rainbow aura will keep you healthy and control the flow of negative and positive energy. You will learn how to create a green aura this week.

Hair Breathing (Part 5)

So, let's start learning the last exercise, “hair breathing.”

1. “Breathe” the hair on your head for 30 seconds.
2. Alternately “breathe” through your eyelids, nostrils, palms, forearms, shoulders and especially your armpits.
3. Starting with your feet, gradually breathe through your ankles, calves, and thighs until your mind's eye focuses on your pubic hair.
4. Practice pubic hair breathing for 30 seconds, then turn your attention to your facial hair and do facial hair breathing. At the same time, do not forget about the hairs in your ears.
5. Focus on your eyebrows. Take a smooth inhalation using the “reverse breathing” type (if you prefer “abdominal” breathing, then breathe this way) and feel the energy rushing into your eyebrows.
6. Exhale and feel the energy coming from your eyebrows.
7. Continue to “breathe” your eyebrows for a minute.
8. Feel the energy descending and gathering in your mouth. You can speed up the accumulation of energy by sucking your tongue and retracting your cheeks.
9. To activate salivation, make nine circular movements with your tongue between your lips and teeth. Repeat the same six times in the opposite direction. This exercise will help fill your mouth with saliva. If your mouth continues to be dry, increase the number of times you move your tongue in both directions.
10. Feel how the energy of the hair on your head, eyelids, nostrils, arms, armpits, legs, pubic area, face and ears is absorbed by saliva and mixed. For
To better merge energy flows, move your lower jaw back and forth.
11. Press the tip of your tongue against the lower gum, and its middle part against the upper palate.
12. To activate the “sacral pump,” hold your head straight and swallow saliva with a characteristic sound. Allow the energy to sink into the stomach. Feel how the lower area of the tan tien becomes warmer and filled with excess energy. If desired, you can make several revolutions along the “microcosmic orbit”.
13. Rub your palms together until they become warm and cover your eyes with them.
14. To complete the exercise, lightly pat the lower part of the chest with your palm and, in particular, the right side in the liver area.
In the last lesson on hair breathing, you learned how to breathe all the hair on your body. Once you can feel the flow of energy flowing out and into your hair, doing the exercises will become extremely simple. At times you will feel as if you are breathing through the entire surface of your skin.

Controlling energy flows and “breathing through the skin” are truly revolutionary, breaking the usual stereotypes and ideas. This experience can change the way you think about yourself, your capabilities, and your place in the world.
It should be remembered that breathing exercises increase the body's resistance to diseases.
