Low start in athletics and how athletes train it.

Today we have for consideration another training device for training an athlete - an athlete. We will study the original educational device, actively used in athletics, the main task of which is to maximize the starting acceleration and work out the athlete’s low start when running short distances. This training apparatus It showed itself very well in practice, and has long been adopted by coaches in most countries. But in fact, the device is elementary, like everything ingenious in this World.

Resistance training device for runners.

The device is intended for training and improving the technique of running elements, for developing speed, strength and speed-strength endurance, as well as for improving the motor skill - full push-off when running out from the start. The device is successfully used by beginners and skilled athletes. Allows you to develop your starting acceleration, improves technique, improves the low start of an athlete, honing each of its elements and bringing it to automatism.

The device (Figure No. 1) uses parts from a road bicycle. By pressing the handle of the large gear with your hand, the forces are transmitted through the chain to the small gear connected to the brake mounted inside the base of the reel. One end of the cord is wound on a reel, and the other is attached to a hook on the athlete’s belt. In this case, the belt is put directly on the athlete’s clothing - usually a Craft warm-up suit or other convenient analogue is used. The main thing is that the belt is not fully tightened, but dangles freely around the runner’s waist - this is very important from the point of view of safety and the prevention of possible sports injuries...

In Fig. 1, and the device is shown assembled. Main parts: 1 - large gear axis; 2 — stand for fastening the axis of the large gear; 3 — coil axis with fastening nuts; 4 — stands for fastening the coil axis; 5 — base (rectangular frame); 6 — nylon cord (thickness 3...4 mm); 7 — coil limiters; 8 — small gear with brake and drive devices; 9 - chain; 10 - large gear with handle.

  1. permanent;
  2. variable;
  3. growing;
  4. decreasing

...depending on the task and the level of training of the athlete.

During training on a segment of 30...35 m, the athlete performs 60...70 running movements with full amplitude. At the end of the run, the athlete unhooks the cord (belt) and the coach, by rotating the handle in the opposite direction for 3...4 s, winds the cord onto the reel, and thus the next athlete can perform the exercise (Fig. 1, b).

Well, well, another, albeit simple, simulator from the world of athletics has been added to our knowledge base about instruments, devices and training devices used in modern sports. One, but as you understand, not the last - we have more and more stories ahead about new and new training equipment, which modern athletes and coaches cannot do without. Be with us!
