Monosis

Monoses are carbohydrates that cannot be broken down into simpler molecules in living organisms. Monoses consist of one monosaccharide sugar molecule and have the formula C n (H 2 O) n, where n = 1-14. Monosa is one of two classes of carbohydrates that are actively used in biochemistry and the food industry.

Monosaccharides are monocarbohydrates. They are not independent carbohydrates and serve as a link in more complex molecules. There are two groups of monosaccharides - pentose monosaccharides and hexose monosaccharides.

Pentoses: Pentose is the general formula C x
