Yolk Stem

The yolk stalk (or panicle) is a formation up to 2 cm long in the upper part of the seed, which has a varied character depending on the type of seed.

The yolk stalk is part of the seeds of flowering plants. It consists of connective tissue fibers that are usually covered with pigments. In addition, oils, proteins and other substances necessary for the growth of a new plant can be found in the yolk stalk.

The yellow stems are the result of the activity of vitamin K, which is produced in plants. Most often, stalks are clearly visible on some legume seeds, such as beans, peas, dried mung beans and other grains.

It should be noted that the presence of a yellow stem is a sign of high quality grain and a good harvest. In addition to beans and peas, the yellow stalk is noticeable on buckwheat, quinoa, and sunflower grains. The taste of such samples, as a rule, is simply excellent, and they are also considered very beneficial for the body.
