Diet for pregnant women

Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life when her body experiences major changes. One of the most important aspects of the health of the unborn baby is proper nutrition of the mother. A diet for pregnant women is not just a list of prohibitions, but rather recommendations for consuming healthy foods and limiting harmful ones.

The main principle of the diet for pregnant women is moderation in food and proper distribution of meals. It is recommended to eat food 4-5 times a day, in small portions. Breakfast should be an hour after waking up, and dinner should be 2-3 hours before bedtime. The daily diet should contain sufficient amounts of protein, fats and carbohydrates, as well as a multivitamin preparation.

Protein is the main building material for the tissues of a growing body, so it must be consumed in sufficient quantities. A pregnant woman's diet should contain from 100 to 120 grams of protein per day, of which 70
