Dactyl... One gets the impression that this word is borrowed from a foreign language...

From the word “dactyl” itself, which is originally a Greek term, it is impossible to draw clear conclusions about whether it is originally Russian or borrowed. Nevertheless, all linguistic sources are one way or another inclined to think that this word came to us from the ancient world. Etymological dictionaries give us the following picture of the origin of the word dactylo, comparable to dactyl—gr. dactulos—a printed sign (maybe an anagram), another suggestion is the Russian word “dactyl”, akin to the word “udar” from the word “to hit”
