Diet No. 4B is intended for people who are in the recovery stage after acute intestinal diseases, as well as for those who have chronic intestinal diseases in remission. In addition, this diet can be recommended for concomitant diseases of the stomach, pancreas, liver and biliary system.

Basic principles of diet No. 4B

Diet No. 4B contains proteins in the amount of 100-120 g, fats - 100-120 g, carbohydrates - 400-450 g, table salt - 8-10 g, free liquid - 1.5 l. The weight of the daily diet is 3 kg, and the calorie content is 3000-3500 kcal.

The main goal of this diet is to limit mechanical and chemical irritants to the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines. This excludes products that increase fermentation in the intestines, bile secretion, and the secretory function of the stomach and pancreas.

When preparing food, it is recommended to use boiling or steaming methods, and also prefer unpureed foods. It is recommended to eat food in small portions 5-6 times a day. The temperature of cold dishes should not be lower than 15°C, and hot food should not be higher than 62°C.
