Musculature performs a motor function in a person the whole body and its individual constituent elements. From an anatomical point of view and based on scientific bodybuilding, muscles are divided into groups: striated (skeletal or voluntary) and unstriated (involuntary). The human body contains approximately 500 skeletal muscles. Their work and interaction is regulated by the CNS (central nervous system).
Thanks to the muscle ability to contract, our body is able to perform various complex movement, keep equilibrium And stable position bodies in space.
Our muscles are functionally focused on two types of activities. The first one is movement. In other words, the movement of a body or its parts in space, a certain dynamic work. The second type of activity is retention parts of the body in a certain fixed position. What ensures the stability of a certain body posture and counteracts external external forces aimed at changing this posture - static operation.
As a result, these two types of muscle activity are interacting and complementary. At the same time, muscle work at the reflex level causes cascade changes in the vital activity of internal organs, ensuring the necessary supply of our muscles with nutrients and oxygen, as well as the removal of metabolic end products from them.
Sometimes we don’t even notice it, but our muscular system is always forced to continuously be in a state of some constant tension, the so-called "tone", which is directly supported by the central nervous system. As a result of prolonged, intense work, a state of so-called fatigue muscles - a temporary decrease or decrease in their performance due to changes in the metabolic process.
Fatigue - a normal physiological state of a short-term decrease in the functionality of the body, caused by prolonged or intense activity. Fatigue is periodic and passes quickly.
And here overwork is a condition of the human body caused by the constant progressive accumulation of fatigue or super-intense excessive one-time fatigue.
The flexor is a muscle that brings together the surfaces of individual elements of a limb separated by a joint or several joints. Accordingly: the extensor is a muscle that brings together the posterior surfaces of the limb.
In fitness and bodybuilding, muscles focused on performing work that is friendly in the direction of work are called - synergists. And groups that perform opposite actions are called - antagonists.
Coordination – this is the coordination of the movements of the human body as a whole.
Knowledge and understanding of the location of individual muscle groups and their functions opens up great opportunities in selecting a set of exercises and adapting standard training schemes to your individual characteristics.
