How to run correctly: advice from champions

At the beginning of August, the presentation of a new model of Nike running shoes, the famous Lunar Glide line, took place. Ukrainian champion athletes attended the events and shared their secrets in sports.

European 800m champion Natalia Lupu: “Start running for 10-20 minutes. Do not immediately injure the body. Before jogging, be sure to warm up: bending, stretching, or light jumping. Then gradually increase the duration of your run: a week of 10 minutes, a week of 20... and so on. In any case, for this to be useful, you must be comfortable. I advise you not to focus only on running. Exercise 3 times a week: two workouts with jogging and warm-up, and one special, for a specific muscle group. It's perfect for your figure."

Olga Lyakhovaya, champion at a distance of 400 meters: “When playing sports, nutrition plays a very important role. Eat less fried foods, more healthy carbohydrates and proteins, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drink a lot of water - 1.5-2 liters per day. This is very important for athletes. Because when we run we lose a lot of fluid.”

The athletes also shared their professional experience and talked about the correct selection of sports equipment.

  1. NikeLunarGlide+ 5 sneakers provide dynamic support through the Dynamic Support platform - a combination of two foams of different stiffness (Lunarlon and a second, stiffer one). On the heel of the shoe there is a large amount of soft foam and a little harder. As you move inward towards the toe, the amount of hard foam gradually increases and the amount of soft foam decreases, which provides the necessary support and prevents pronation during movement.

  2. The Lunarlon cushioning system features soft yet flexible foam inside a firmer, more supportive foam to provide lightweight, exceptionally soft cushioning, flexibility, and support for the foot.
