Exercise devices available to make at home.

In this short review we will continue to look at sports equipment, training devices and training systems offered by our domestic developers. They are simple and easily accessible for self-implementation at home using all kinds of available means. The sketches and dimensions of the parts provided will help you in these endeavors.

So we begin...

Squat rack with barbell (weightlifting machine).

We have already discussed such important tools for a real athlete in bodybuilding as a weightlifting rack, a platform, and a bench for presses in our previous reviews. Today we will look at another version of this device. So, how else can you make a barbell rack?

The simulator consists of a platform (1×1.5 m) and two racks installed on both sides (Fig. 1). Movable or fixed devices (slots, hooks, clamps, etc.) are made on the racks, on which the barbell is mounted. Exercises are performed lying down, squatting, standing.

Weightlifting bench or bench press.

This bench is a welded structure made of metal pipes. The seat is made of boards or particle boards, well sanded or covered with leatherette. The device is initially focused on performing a variety of presses, but is not limited to them alone. To perform special exercises aimed at developing the muscles of the back of the thigh, the bench can be additionally equipped with a counterweight with a load. The counterweight is attached to the legs of the bench using four bolts (Fig. 2) and consists of two squares (at an angle of 90°). 4-5 holes are drilled in the upper long ends of the squares to strengthen the metal roller covered with soft fabric. At the short ends, two rods or bushings from the bar are attached, onto which the discs are put.

Exercise machine “vigor”

The exercise machine is a collapsible structure consisting of a gymnastic ladder (retractable) and hanging sports equipment: crossbar, board, rings, stop.

1 - fixed ladder; 2 — retractable section; 3 - heel; 4 — hinged crossbar; 5 - rings; 6 — emphasis; 7 - board.

Dimensions of the elements of the simulator: crossbar - width 57 cm; hanging board - length 1535 mm, width - 330 mm; hanging rings - Diameter 18 cm; hanging stop - length 492 cm, width - 420 cm, height - 185 cm.

Dynamic monkey bars

The device was developed in Belarus by teachers from Gomel University (V.A. Barkov and others).

It is a rotating drum - two polygons connected to each other by parallel metal cross-bars ("steps") 450-500 mm long and 25-30 mm in diameter - mounted on a base. There is an axis in the center of the drum, rigidly connected to the corners of the polygons using metal spokes with a diameter of 10 mm.

The protruding ends of the axle are fitted with bearings, which are attached to the base to horizontally located corners. The base of the monkey bars consists of two right-angled triangles, rigidly connected and made of metal corners 50x50 mm. There are hooks on the vertically located corners that allow you to hang the monkey bars on the gymnastics ladder (Fig. 4). The handle bar is installed at such a height that exercises on it can be performed in a hanging position.

1 - polygon; 2 - base; 3 - axis; 4 - bearing; 5 - hook

Rowing machine "universal-2"

Refers to general impact devices that allow the development of various muscle groups both simultaneously and in isolation. Specialized sports equipment stores offer various similar rowing machines ("Caucasian", "universal", "rowing", "tempo", etc.).

The easiest to make yourself is “station wagon-2” (Fig. 5). The load in the simulator is created by rubber or spring bands. The design allows you to carry out exercise movements in isolation:

  1. I. Only with the help of hands,
  2. II. Leg (movable seat),
  3. III. Backs.

1 - base; 2 — seat; 3 - axes; 4 — fastening of springs; 5- “oar”; 6 — support; 7 — rollers; 8 - springs, rubber bands

In subsequent articles on our site we will continue to introduce you to all kinds of training equipment and original training devices. There is still a lot of interesting things ahead! Don't switch!
