Regularly training in our sports complex, I observe every day how many young people, having come to the gym, intensively, with wheezing and groaning, carry iron with extremely loaded weights, then, having completed their training program, go home with a sense of accomplishment... These young newly minted athletes think that they gave 100% and when leaving the gym, they don’t even remember what a cool-down is and why it must be done without fail after every workout... And it’s very in vain...
- After all, firstly, a cool-down is a special set of exercises aimed at a smooth transition of our body from a state of extreme strength activity to a state of rest.
- Secondly, this is a series of specialized breathing exercises, as well as relaxation exercises, which are so necessary for us after training.
- Thirdly, these are elements of self-massage, which have an extremely positive effect on the speedy restoration of our muscular system.
Constantly ignoring a hitch, our body experiences sharp changes in states of activity and subsequent states of rest, which can have a very negative impact on the quality of our health. The smoother and more imperceptible these transitions are, the better. It’s just that our heart, respiratory and circulatory systems have a hard time adapting to sudden changes. Sharp outbursts are a big stress for them. When the change in activity occurs smoothly and imperceptibly, it is much easier for our anatomical systems to enter the desired rhythm. Moreover, this is relevant both when the level of load increases - then a warm-up is necessary, and when it decreases - accordingly, a cool-down.
Let us give you a clear example:
Here the situation is almost the same as with a car engine: turn the ignition key, turn it on and immediately start in third gear. After driving for a long time in this mode, you will ruin your engine. Experienced drivers, having always started the engine, warm it up thoroughly at idle speed so that the oil is evenly distributed throughout all its insides, and it smoothly returns to the proper operating rhythm, and after that, you can slowly begin your journey from first gear, gradually increasing the speed. . This approach seems to us to be much more economical, and will allow your engine to operate without major repairs for many years...
Remember: if you are determined to engage in bodybuilding and want to lift serious weights every day, do not forget to buy yourself a home treadmill, and just as often as you lift weights, run, or at least just walk on it. And never ignore, both the introductory and final phases of the training process.
After all, absolutely exactly the same as with a car, everything happens in the same way with our body. However, in the case of a car engine, even if you completely ruin it, you have the opportunity, even after spending a decent amount of money, to buy a new one and replace it. But buying and replacing a new heart is much more difficult. Remember: you only have one health, and no one will give you a second one. A cat has nine lives, but we humans have only one. Therefore, take care of yourself, do everything correctly, wisely, and now that you understand what a cool-down is, never forget to do it after every workout. Moreover, fifteen minutes is not so much. Moreover, these fifteen minutes will guarantee your health and longevity...
