A recommended option for active recreation is hiking for beginners.

  1. Have you ever spent the night in a tent in the forest?
  2. Or maybe they sang songs around the fire with a guitar?
  3. Have you ever seen the sunrise on the shore of a picturesque lake?

Once you try it, you can become hooked on this romance of “wild primitive life” forever. Moreover, for this it is not at all necessary to be a professional tourist and go to the mountains or forests for whole weeks or months. A couple of days may be quite enough to taste all this delight and relax body and soul in nature. It is precisely such hiking trips for amateurs and beginners that will be discussed in this article. Moreover, professional tourism is a completely different story, and a separate topic for conversation, which we will also definitely talk about in our subsequent articles in this section...

Hiking for beginners is not just a great way to have a fun and exciting time, it is also an excellent option for active recreation after a good workout in the gym. Inhaling clean forest air, eating in nature, communicating with friends, we get the much-needed psychological release, which, as we know, we need no less than physical rest...

And, as you know, tourism hardens people, develops resourcefulness, teaches them to choose a place for bivouac, make a fire, cook food over a fire, spend the night in the field, etc., which brings a noticeable white streak into our routine and monotonous life, switches our work on a completely different type, which only has a positive effect on our muscles...

A novice amateur tourist should begin his preparation for a hike with walking for 1-1.5 hours. As the body gets used to the load, the distance must be increased. Tourist trips are carried out along a linear route, along a circular route with access to the same point in the area (to a village, bus station or railway station) and along a combined route with an exit for visiting museums, memorable places, etc.

Tourist groups are formed taking into account the interests, physical fitness, and age of the participants. These data must match or be close. As a rule, groups consist of 20-25 people. At the same time, it is necessary to have experienced tourists acting as so-called leaders and instructors, because a group of only yellowthroats can easily find themselves on the fifth point...

Any beginner, in preparation for hiking, needs to learn how to pack a backpack and set up a tent.

You need to put things in the backpack so that it takes the shape of a matchbox with oval edges, fits tightly to your back, and does not bother you when moving. Having placed the back of the backpack on the ground, a sleeping bag, folded in two or three times, is first placed in it. Then spare shoes, a storm jacket, a tracksuit, a warm shirt (a rashguard can be used), underwear, socks, a set of camping utensils, and a foam mat are placed on the bottom. Food and toiletries are placed on it. In separate backpacks you can put multi-person tents, kitchen utensils, a kerosene stove, an axe, a lantern, and a first aid kit.

The side pockets of the backpack store a hat or panama hat, a camera, and a first aid kit; heavy things are at the bottom, light things are at the top.

A well-packed backpack evenly loads the muscles of the back and lower back. The load on the shoulders is reduced and good posture is maintained.

To relax during a hike, groups of tourists choose a place protected from the wind with a nearby source of drinking water. To set up a tent you need 14 pegs.

Instead, use anything that can be tied to a guy wire: a tree, a large stone, a root or a log house. First, unfold the tent, straighten the bottom and stretch it onto pegs, driving them in at an acute angle to the stretch. Having installed the support posts, inserting their upper end into the grommet, strengthen the guy wires on the pegs. Then they begin to fasten the corner braces of the side slopes, eliminate wrinkles on the roof of the tent by tightening the middle braces. 2 - 4 people can set up a tent in 3-5 minutes. Place it in reverse order.

  1. I) light a fire,
  2. ii) prepare food,
  3. III) provide first aid and transport victims.

To conduct a weekend trip, you need to obtain and fill out a uniform route sheet. It is issued by the route and qualification commission of the Council for Tourism and Excursions, in tourist clubs, sections and departments. The sheet is filled out by the leader of the trip and certified by the team conducting it.
