Lunch at work causes thrombosis

Scientists from the New Zealand Institute of Medical Research conducted a study in which they found that the habit of eating lunch at work doubles the risk of developing blood clots.

1000 office employees took part in the experiment. It turned out that every fourth of them did not go out for a lunch break, but ate fast food at their desk. In addition, nine out of ten participants worked for an hour and a half without a break, which reduced blood flow in the veins under the knees by 50%.

Experts note that those office workers who prefer to eat and work at the same time expose themselves to an increased risk of thrombosis. The study found that this risk increases by 2.2 times compared to employees who take their lunch break.

Thus, the habit of eating lunch at your desk significantly increases the risk of blood clots. To reduce this risk, experts recommend taking regular breaks and going out for lunch outside the office.
