A simulator for developing strength in weightlifters.

The training device for urgent information with feedback is used by weightlifters during training to more effectively develop muscle strength in the lower extremities. The device can be used in other sports for the purpose of programmed training and movement control, and the development of motor qualities.

The simulator (Fig. 1) is a four-program device with light indication, in which the exercise - squats with a barbell on the shoulders - is simulated at fast, medium and slow rates.

The device consists of a housing, a movable table and a metal screen on which there are two rows of signal lights in the form of the Latin letter V, reflecting the yielding and overcoming operating modes. Screen size 850×630 mm. The upper signal lights show the initial vertical position of the athlete before starting the exercise, and the lower ones signal that the athlete must make the transition from the inferior mode of work to the overcoming one. The selected form allows the athlete to figuratively perceive all changes in the speed of movement and make corrections to the movement while tracking a given program when performing an exercise. The first outer row of signal lights (red) sets a program of different speed of movement, and the second (green) serves as an indicator of movement according to a given program. With the help of this series, movement is corrected and feedback is implemented. Below are program switches and power supplies.

The mechanical part of the device (Fig. 1,a) consists of a tension mechanism 3, a fishing line with a spiral spring placed in a casing 2, one end of which is fixedly fixed, and the other leads to a rotating shaft 6. A drum 5 with a fishing line 7 is rigidly fixed to the axis. The axle shaft is connected to a reduction gear (1:20) through a gear 4. Rotation of a drum with a diameter of 12 mm in 20 revolutions corresponds to one revolution of movement of the slider 11 along the lamellas of the disk 10.

During the movement, the athlete, moving with the barbell down (the spring unwinds) and up (the spring twists), acts on the fishing line coming from drum 5 through pulleys 8, 9 and attached by means of ring 1 to the barbell (Fig. 1, a ). The fishing line, rotating the drum, moves the slider along the lamellas of the disk. The slider, after turning on the signal lights of the inner row, implements the function of tracking movement according to a given program.

When training, the athlete in the starting position with a barbell on his shoulders is at a distance of 2.5 m from the training device. When the lights in the outer row light up sequentially from top to bottom, the athlete begins to perform the exercise from the starting position in such a way that the lights in the inner row, when lit, are at the same level as the light bulbs in the outer row. It should be noted that the number of repetitions (cycles) when performing a movement for any of the four motor programs is not limited.
