We continue to study modern training equipment from the arsenal of athletes and their coaches of all sports disciplines known to us... And today we will study the device in detail: heart rate monitor. And also how devices of this type connect and interact with modern educational and training systems...

But first, let's explore the widely used isometric trainer, its main components and operating principle. And only then – its interaction with our device for collecting and analyzing statistics of your indicators.

One of the features of the simulator is that it can be used to selectively and locally develop the strength of individual muscle groups in athletes. This device provides programmed training in isometric mode. The simulator is mainly intended for track and field athletes. However, this installation can be used by athletes of other sports.

The device consists of a frame 4, a moving support base 2 mounted on it, on which the power unit 5 is fixed. A special digital liquid crystal display 3, as well as electric stopwatches 6 are connected to the power unit. Bench 1, covered with soft bedding, is attached to the frame (Fig. 1, a, b).

The simulator is equipped with a means for fixing a certain position of the athlete, installed on a support base. The power unit is implemented in the form of two paired dynamometers, on the rods of which slip rings are fixed, and each of them is connected to the corresponding diode signal lamp of the information light display.

The exercise is performed according to a special program. After determining the maximum force at given angles, the load is calculated and dosed as a percentage of the maximum force (usually 70...90% of the maximum force) and the time for performing the exercises is set (usually 4; 6; 9 s). The athlete, using a special light board, monitors compliance with the specified effort (for each leg) (Fig. 1, 6). When the specified force is reached, green lights light up in the corresponding row of the light display. The moment the lights light up coincides with the start of the electric stopwatch. After the set time has elapsed, the red lights light up, which is a signal to stop the exercise. If, as the exercise progresses, the efforts fall below the set value or exceed it, the green lights go out, and white lights light up in the corresponding rows of the light display, which serves as a signal to correct the effort.

Typically such devices are special cardio belt, which the athlete puts on and fixes in a special way on the desired points of his body. At the same time, previously such belts were connected to target simulators only through a wired connection: a cable with a plug inserted into a special connector on the simulator. Modern devices of this type are increasingly equipped with wireless connection devices using the publicly available Bluetoth and Wi-fi protocols. At the same time, the athlete receives comprehensive information about his work on each of the available simulators. Moreover, as you understand, we mean not only static type simulators, like the one we are considering above, but also, of course, dynamic ones: such as:



  1. Treadmills,
  2. Elliptical,
  3. Rowing,
  4. Bicycle ergonometers,

...and others, both cardio and strength training devices and complexes.

Also, a significant advantage of the TOP devices of this class is that they are able to accumulate information not only separately for each simulator, but also in a complex - the so-called summary assessment of the entire workout and its effectiveness, with total calorie consumption and real, practical advice on adjustments your training and the volume of load received.
