Diet for gastritis

Gastritis is a disease that manifests itself as inflammation of the mucous membrane of the stomach wall. It can be caused by poor diet, stress, smoking and related diseases. To treat gastritis, a therapeutic diet is prescribed, which is compiled by a gastroenterologist in each specific case. However, there are general rules of nutrition for this disease.

One of the main principles of nutrition for gastritis is to eat little but often, preferably 5-6 times a day. In this case, you need to avoid very hot, spicy, salty and fatty foods, as well as alcohol and carbonated drinks.

For gastritis with high acidity, it is permissible to consume whole milk, cream, cottage cheese, kefir, low-fat sour cream and cheese. It is better to prepare cottage cheese dishes from pureed cottage cheese. These can be cheesecakes, dumplings or casserole. Eggs should be soft-boiled or steamed omelet. Fried or hard-boiled eggs are not recommended. Vegetable dishes should be steamed and crushed to a puree. The main vegetables should be carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, beets, pumpkin and zucchini. The berries should be sweet and the fruits should be ripe. They must be prepared pureed, baked and boiled. As a dessert, it is permissible to consume jam, marshmallows, honey, marshmallows, cream and milk puddings. In the form of fats, it is recommended to consume refined sunflower and olive oils, ghee and sweet butter. For drinks, give preference to weak tea or cocoa with milk, sweet juices and decoctions.

For gastritis with low acidity, the diet should contain rich meat, fish, vegetable soups, lean fish and meat, vegetables stewed with butter, coffee and cocoa. Frying without breading and baked crust is allowed. You need to eat four times a day, preferably at the same time. You should limit or completely eliminate foods that cause fermentation. These include grapes, beans, cabbage, whole milk products, and fresh baked goods. You also need to exclude pickles, canned food, marinades, smoked meats, and from vegetables - radishes, onions, garlic and cucumbers. Drinks should not be carbonated or cold. It is recommended to drink weak tea, a decoction of fragrant roots, cranberry and gastric juices.

In any case, if you have gastritis, you need to monitor the condition of your body and, if necessary, adjust your diet. It is also important to avoid stressful situations, smoking and drinking alcohol, as this negatively affects the stomach.
