Ginger tea for weight loss: what is the power?

People in the East have known about the beneficial properties of ginger for hundreds of years; they use it as a seasoning for main dishes, prepare hot and cold drinks based on it, and also use it in traditional and alternative medicine. Ginger root contains essential amino acids, zingiberene - a substance that is essentially an essential oil, vitamins A and E.

Ginger for weight loss, in particular ginger tea, began to be used not so long ago. Why is this drink recommended for weight loss and what does it give? Ginger speeds up metabolism (thanks to zingiberene), burns fat and stimulates blood circulation. In addition, it is useful for the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, in the prevention of migraines, spasms and seizures; helps eliminate pain in muscles and joints; restores strength after illness; helps keep skin young and hair healthy.

Ginger tea for weight loss can be prepared from either fresh or dried root. It can be added to black, green or herbal tea.

Despite all its benefits, ginger is contraindicated for use in cases of kidney disease, ulcers, liver and biliary tract diseases, allergies, high blood pressure and heart disease. Ginger tea should not be consumed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

You need to start drinking ginger tea for weight loss with one or two glasses a day, and then reach 2 liters. It is not recommended to drink this drink at night, as it tends to invigorate.

Here are some options for ginger tea for weight loss:

  1. The simplest recipe. Place a teaspoon of grated ginger root in a thermos and pour boiling water (1.5-2 liters). Leave for at least half an hour. Drink a glass 30 minutes before meals.

  2. Half a teaspoon of finely grated ginger root, a slice of lemon, 1-2 leaves of fresh mint. Pour boiling water (250-300 ml) over everything and leave for 10 minutes. It is advisable to drink this tea 20-30 minutes before meals.

  3. This recipe is considered one of the most effective for weight loss. Pour one teaspoon of finely grated ginger root, 1 clove of garlic (finely chopped) into a glass of boiling water, leave for 15-20 minutes, then strain. The drink is ready to drink. Drink throughout the day, as well as 20-30 minutes before meals. You need to drink at least 8 glasses of this tea per day.

  4. Half a teaspoon of finely grated ginger root, half a slice of lemon, a leaf of fresh mint, lemon balm and lingonberry. You can add other herbs at your discretion. Pour boiling water (250-300 ml) over everything and leave for 10 minutes.

Ginger tea for weight loss must be filtered, otherwise it will be too rich. Before grating or thinly slicing the root, be sure to peel it. Experiment with flavors, you can add half an orange slice to it. In summer, you can drink it cold, it is very refreshing. If you are not trying to lose weight, you can drink tea by adding a little honey, you will get a tasty, healthy and warming drink. But you shouldn’t replace all the liquid you drink, as well as clean water, with ginger tea. There must be moderation in everything.

And remember a very important point: if you want to lose weight, then you should not drink ginger tea for weight loss along with buns, cake or sweets, in which case it will be useless. Your main companions in losing weight will be: proper nutrition and avoidance of sweets, an active lifestyle and stable fitness activities. And tea, even ginger tea for weight loss, is an aid.
