Meat and offal
Meat plays an important role in the nutrition of children, being a source of complete protein, iron, and B vitamins. Low-fat varieties of meat are recommended for baby food - veal, chicken, turkey.
Ground meat
Ingredients:
- 100 g beef
- 10 g onions
- 3 ml saline solution
- 5 g butter
Cooking method:
- Rinse the beef without fat and films, chop and simmer until cooked.
- Pass through a meat grinder with the addition of broth.
- Add butter, salt and boil.
Usage: add to puree soups, porridges.
Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 100 g beef
- 15 ml milk
- 1 egg white
- 3 ml saline solution
Cooking method:
- Pass the meat through a meat grinder.
- Add salt, milk, whipped egg white.
- Roll into balls and cook for 8-10 minutes.
Serve with mashed potatoes, porridge.
Steam cutlets
Prepare minced meat as for meatballs. Form cutlets, place in a saucepan, add broth, and steam.
Grated liver
Ingredients:
- 100 g veal liver
- 10 g onion
- 3 ml saline solution
- 5 g butter
Cooking method:
- Rinse the liver, remove films and bile ducts.
- Cut into slices, fry in oil, add broth.
- Simmer for 7-10 minutes, pass through a meat grinder.
Give to children over 10 months.
Brain soufflé
Ingredients:
- 70 g brains
- 1 egg white
- 5 g butter
- 2 ml saline solution
Cooking method:
- Rub the brains through a sieve.
- Add butter, salt, whipped egg white.
- Bake in steamed pan until done.
Thus, meat and offal are an important source of nutrients for children. When properly prepared, they are easily digestible and improve the child’s appetite.
