Proteases Tissue

Proteases are a class of hydrolases (enzymes) that break down the bonds between amino acids in a protein molecule. Protease is an enzyme of the hydrolase class that catalyzes the cleavage of a peptide bond (usually an intramolecular one) to form two or more peptides. All other proteins are proteolytic enzymes (with the exception of protease inhibitors, which may perform the opposite function). Tissue proteases are a separate group of proteases with a proteolytic type of action (hydrolase type of action), which differs from proteases proper in their effect on human tissue.
