Scientists have named the best hangover cure: noodle soup
A hangover is a condition that a person may experience after drinking large quantities of alcohol. Symptoms of a hangover may include headache, nausea, vomiting, weakness and trembling. But how to get rid of these unpleasant sensations? Scientists from the University of California conducted a study and determined that the best hangover cure is noodle soup.
The study was conducted on the popular US soups "Kak-a-man" and "Old Sobering-Up Station", which contain noodles, boiled eggs, onions and meat: veal, fish or shrimp. Scientists studied the effect of each ingredient on the body and came to the conclusion that the soup helps the body fight dehydration, which is one of the causes of hangover symptoms.
However, each ingredient in the soup plays its own special role in relieving hangover symptoms. For example, boiled eggs contain the amino acid cysteine, which helps remove acetaldehyde from the body, deposited due to the oxidation of alcohol. Salt and herbs, which are also present in the soup, allow you to restore calcium and potassium in the body, which are lost due to the diuretic effect of alcohol. And vitamin B1, found in meat and fish, helps prevent the buildup of glutarates, which cause severe headaches.
However, Professor Alison Mitchell, a participant in the study, notes that the best cure for a hangover is to stop drinking too much. She recommends not drinking more than one pint of beer, 175ml of wine or 30ml of spirits to avoid a headache in the morning.
It's also important to remember that drinking alcohol can have undesirable effects on your overall health. Therefore, if you decide to drink alcohol, drink it in moderation.
So, if you do find yourself with a hangover, noodle soup may be a good way to relieve the symptoms. The soup contains essential substances that help the body fight the effects of alcohol consumption. However, to avoid a hangover, it is best to drink alcohol in moderation or avoid it altogether.
