A workout that will never get boring!
Don't do the same exercises week after week. Reduce your chances of getting bored while exercising - and improve your performance with these six strategies.
-
Change the order of movements. At the same time, maintain alternating exercises for the upper and lower body.
-
Change the speed of your reps.
-
Alternate days. Alternate days with heavier (1 to 2 kg) and lighter (3 or more kg) dumbbells.
-
Change the time. On one day, perform each exercise for 30 seconds, on another day - 2 minutes.
-
Combine two exercises into one. For example, perform a squat with an overhead press or a reverse lunge with a biceps curl. This is great for a more intense workout or if you're really short on time.
-
Split up your workouts. Concentrate only on your upper torso two days a week; the other two days a week - only on the lower level.
Now let's talk about why your last training program didn't work, and what to do about it.
Your problem: no time.
Solution: Some women take business clients to workout parties hosted by gyms or private trainers. New York-based trainer and nutritionist Jennifer Cassetta also attended after-school dinners to help clients navigate restaurant menus.
Your problem: You're nervous about tracking your workouts.
Solution: Let Bones in Motion do it for you. Download the BiM software to your Motorola KRZR phone (or Verizon and Sprint/Nextel models; for other models that support the application, also see the website: www.bimactive.com). You will get a device that plays music and constantly monitors your cycling and running speed, distance, calories, stride length and route using GPS. Click "save" and your data will appear on your personal web page.
