Swimming training on simulators, swimming training on special devices.

Dear readers, our sports portal continues to tell you about simulators, devices and devices used in modern sports: both for training and acquiring initial skills, and for polishing your equipment and improving your quality performance in upcoming competitions. And today our review is dedicated to all those who love swimming pools and cannot live without water...

This may come as news to some, but modern swimming training is not at all limited to the athlete’s constant presence in the pool. They also spend a lot of time in the gym, on the treadmill, and on special training devices, without which it is now impossible to fully learn to swim, and indeed to properly understand the technique of a swimmer’s key movements. It is about such devices that we will tell you in our three upcoming articles. And in this first review, we will look at the first training device from the arsenal of professional swimmers and their coaches.

A device for teaching and training swimming movements on land.

Using the device helps swimmers understand the nature of hand movements in the water (author Yu. Zheleznoe). Athletes can watch for a high elbow position and reinforce this skill faster.

According to its design features, the projectile (Fig. 1, a) is a platform 3 on three wheels. The axle of the rear wheels 1, 2 is fixedly attached to the platform, and the fork 4 of the front wheel is movable for control, which is carried out with the feet through levers and a cable, as in a kayak.

For the projectile, you can use wheels from children's bicycles (three-wheelers), preferably with inflatable tires. It is recommended to make the device from light but durable material. It is necessary that the wheel hubs be on bearings. The length of the platform and its height from the ground depend on the height of the swimmer and the length of his arms. The longer the arms, the higher the platform. Its length should be 15...20 cm greater than the swimmer’s height, and the front wheel should be mounted closer to the front of the platform. This is necessary to ensure that the load on the front and rear wheels is distributed evenly. To protect the palm surface from injury and provide better grip on hard surfaces (floors, dirt or grass, asphalt, etc.), special gloves are used. You can, for example, use goalkeeper gloves for playing football or gloves that have rubber sewn to the inside.

Well, and finally, we recommend that you purchase a sports MP3 player - an excellent device for all pool lovers. It is completely waterproof and designed specifically for swimmers. Now you can listen to music directly during your training swims - this is very convenient.

In the next article we will look at a number of devices for training swimmers and their enhanced training and education. Don't switch!
