Breakfast can protect you from excess weight

After numerous studies, American scientists came to a sensational conclusion: it turns out that breakfast can help in the fight against excess weight. The research was carried out over ten years. During this time, more than twelve thousand US residents were surveyed. The respondents were asked what they usually eat for breakfast and whether they eat breakfast at all.

After comparing the answers with the health indicators of the subjects, the scientists came to the conclusion that men who prefer low-calorie foods for breakfast have less body weight than those whose favorite foods are high in calories. For women, the situation is somewhat different: unlike the stronger sex, they can eat almost any food for breakfast, regardless of their calorie content. But women who neglect breakfast, according to statistics, weigh more than those who eat breakfast regularly.

According to scientists, the optimal breakfast is all kinds of cereals, as well as dishes made from vegetables and fruits, but it is better to avoid fatty, high-calorie foods.

A hearty breakfast will help you shed pounds

It has long been known that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is not for nothing that a proverb appeared among the people that you should eat it yourself, and then share lunches and dinners with friends and enemies. Finally, endocrinologists have proven that a nutritious breakfast not only gives you strength and vigor, but also helps you lose weight.

According to a study conducted by the Hospital in Caracas (Venezuela), women who eat half their daily calories at breakfast lose more weight than those who eat little or no breakfast. In addition, the lost kilograms do not return to those who like to have a hearty breakfast.

It is believed that eating foods rich in proteins and carbohydrates, firstly, helps to get rid of the desire to eat candy or other starchy foods, and secondly, it increases metabolism.

Latin American researchers looked at how daily diet affected the weight of 100 very plump young women. All of them were put on a low-calorie and low-carbohydrate diet, but half of the women ate a fairly large breakfast. Half of their daily diet of 1,240 calories came in the morning.

So, after 8 months, it was noticed that women who consumed light breakfasts lost an average of 12.5 kg, i.e. about 2.5 kg more than the participants who ate a lot. However, this state of affairs soon changed. After another 8 months, the girls, who had lost a fair amount of weight and were accustomed to a light breakfast, again gained 8 kilograms. But the ladies who had a heavy breakfast, on the contrary, continued to lose weight, losing another 7-9 kilograms.

According to a report presented in San Francisco at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society, women who ate a large breakfast lost about 12% of their weight, while others lost an average of 4.5%.

Researcher Dr. Daniela Jakubowicz has been recommending that all diets be based on a hearty breakfast for more than 15 years. According to her, diets that prohibit only carbohydrates are often not effective - those losing weight simply cannot suppress their desire to eat something high-calorie.

In addition, if you eat the most high-calorie food for breakfast, your stomach will have more time to digest everything.
