Breastfeeding is one of the most important components of a baby’s full development, so a nursing mother should carefully monitor her diet, especially in the first months of a newborn’s life.
Mother's milk nourishes the baby, and with it all the necessary vitamins and microelements are transferred to him. But it is important to know that some foods can negatively affect your baby’s well-being. Allergies, colic, bloating, constipation, diarrhea - all this can be caused by the composition of breast milk. That is why breastfeeding experts urge women to introduce foods gradually in the first months after giving birth and strictly monitor the baby’s reaction to them.
At first, the list of food restrictions is quite large, but gradually you can add more and more new foods. How quickly you can return to your usual (but healthy!) diet depends individually on your baby’s food tolerance.
However, experts advise everyone, without exception, to adhere to the basic rules of nutrition for a nursing mother. Give up coffee and other products containing caffeine, sweets, fatty foods, processed foods and, of course, fast food.
