How to properly use the bath potential

Over the course of its long history, humanity has not come up with a better way to relax than a bathhouse. A visit to the bathhouse strengthens the body and heals many diseases, and this is the rare case when treatment is a pleasure. Not only are bath procedures a hardening exercise for the body, it is also gymnastics for the blood vessels.

Russian bath
Historian Vladimir Kostomarov wrote that for Russians, the bathhouse was the main cure for all diseases. “As soon as a Russian feels unwell, he immediately rushes to the bathhouse and takes a steam bath.” The secret of a traditional Russian bath is a wooden steam room, a stove and a broom. The steam room should be clean, dried and ventilated - only in such a room the heat becomes soft and light. For heat, water is “thrown” into the stove, but in small quantities - no more than 200-300 grams. Essential oils or infusions of medicinal herbs are added to the water: mint, eucalyptus, fir, pine needles. High concentrations of additives may cause headaches. Determining the measure is quite easy - the herbal smell should not “interrupt” the aroma of hot wood. You can sprinkle bread kvass or beer on the heater. The steam should not dry out the nasopharynx of the person on the top shelf - this is the surest way to “taste” the steam room. You can splash pine tincture on the walls - this is good for the respiratory system and is a great stress reliever.

Healing brooms
A unique attribute of the Russian bath is a broom. Birch broom is a classic of the bath genre. It relieves tension from muscles and joints, softens the skin. Its aromatic spirit is recommended for those who often suffer from bronchitis. The oak broom is hard and vigorous. It should not be used by those whose skin is particularly sensitive. But steamed oak leaves will perfectly “treat” oily skin. Oak broom relieves stress and effectively fights high blood pressure. A massage with a pine, fir or juniper broom penetrates deeply, relieving pain in the spine and joints. These exotic brooms are chosen by those who want to lose extra pounds. Eucalyptus broom is a preventive remedy for frequent colds, runny noses and coughs. Linden broom stimulates kidney function and relieves frequent migraines. A tansy broom is suitable for women suffering from menstrual irregularities and bladder disorders. In the summer, string and sage, wormwood and mint, nettle and burdock are added to any brooms. Before use, the broom must be “steamed”. Dip a dry broom into hot water for a minute. Then it is heated on the stove so that the leaves straighten.

Dry Finnish steam
There is no humidity in a Finnish sauna, and a hot stove heats the air to high temperatures. At a temperature of 120 degrees, humidity does not exceed 15 percent. “Sauna gourmets” agree with the Scandinavian residents, who claim that dry steam is the healthiest, and, according to the saying, anyone who can get to the sauna can take a steam bath. It is believed that a sauna is less tiring and makes breathing easier. It is a good remedy for fighting microbes that enter the skin from the external environment. However, the sauna puts a serious strain on the cardiovascular system. If you're not used to it, dry heat can burn. Some doctors do not recommend saunas to those who have not been accustomed to them since childhood, proving their adverse effects on the nasopharynx and respiratory tract. The “Finnish bath ceremony”, just like the Russian bath, includes several entries into the steam room, cold dousing or a cool pool. The broom in the sauna is replaced by scrapers: brushes, plastic corrugated palms or hard terry mittens.

Gentle Turkish warmth
In a Turkish bath, high humidity will make you sweat from the first minute, although there is no sweltering heat here. The maximum temperature is not higher than 45-48 degrees. The gentle heat of a Turkish bath has a wonderful effect on the body. This bath is the most gentle and is not contraindicated even for those who have serious blood pressure problems. That
