The chief nutritionist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Oleg Shvets shared with journalists information about how and what to eat in the heat.
The nutritionist recommends including seasonal fruits and vegetables, fish and cereals in your diet, but it is better to avoid meat and foods rich in fat, salt or sugar. At the same time, nutrition should be complete and balanced, especially for people with chronic diseases.
Drinking fluids in this heat costs twice as much as usual, but it should be plain water or juices. You should avoid carbonated and sweet drinks - they do not contain the most beneficial substances. You should also be careful with mineral water, since a large amount of mineral water can cause diseases of the digestive system and urinary tract.
