Have you ever uttered similar words? When there is constant talk around you about trying to get better, and you are making jokes about your thinness...
You won’t believe it, but there are many people in the world who dream not of losing weight, but of gaining weight. And they suffer from their own thinness and bonyness no less than fat people. They can eat whatever they want, lie on the couch, overeat at night and still not gain weight. Why does this happen and how can such people be helped?
What is the root of the problem?
A truly fragile build and constitution allow some people to feel good even with low weight, but more often, underweight does not occur on its own, but as a consequence of disorders in the body or poor nutrition.
To understand why you cannot gain the desired weight, you will have to consult a doctor. Together with him, you need to understand whether the cause of the reduced weight is: gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, chronic stress, inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), pancreatitis, oncology, tuberculosis, diseases of the endocrine system.
Find the cause - and eliminate it!
Most often, the reason for thinness lies in disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, which is why the diet should be selected by a nutritionist-gastroenterologist. It is not at all necessary that a person has some kind of serious illness, but the motility of the digestive sections can be so impaired that food slips through without having time to be absorbed. In other words, find the cause of thinness and eliminate it. But if the treatment may be different, then the dietary rules are approximately the same for everyone.
Diet for skinny people
A person who wants to gain weight should eat 5-6 times a day, but in small portions. Protein dishes should be included in every meal. Moreover, it is better to eat proteins of animal origin: choose 60 g of meat (poultry, fish), 100 g of cottage cheese, 30 g of cheese or a glass of kefir according to your taste.
Nutrient polysubstrate mixtures that contain a certain amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates will be of great help. In addition to protein foods, you can eat cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal), stewed vegetables (zucchini, cauliflower, beets, carrots) as a side dish. Carbohydrate foods (pasta, rice, potatoes) can also be used as a side dish, as long as they do not cause heaviness.
Be sure to include fruits in your diet, but separate them into a separate meal (second breakfast, afternoon snack). Fruits and vegetables help digest food and avoid constipation, which often accompanies people who are underweight. It is acceptable to eat some pickled cucumbers and tomatoes, but you will have to exclude spicy, fatty and fried foods from your diet. By the way, you can eat soups, but rarely, because they quickly make you feel full.
But even if a person with a deficit of body weight eats this menu for a year, he will gain no more than 5-12 kg.
