Office Snack Strategy

I think everyone knows about yogurt advertisements where people walk around with huge holes in their stomachs - this is how we, consumers, clearly demonstrate what “hunger” is. This feeling of a “hole” is familiar to many. Just count how many times a day, while at work, you snack on “something” in order to fill this “gap” in the stomach area. Now imagine how many extra calories you consume along with this “something”! Harmless liver - and that’s about 50 calories. What can we say about chocolate, chips, etc.

“What to do if hunger strikes, but lunch is not soon?” - this is exactly the question asked in the advertisement about “holes in our stomachs.” Let's try to answer them.

After studying our snacking habits, nutritionists divided all people into three groups:

  1. Without a bag of chips or nuts, is your work completely impossible? Then you are most likely a Sheep. Representatives of this group constantly chew something and often snack - from three to six times a day.

  2. A thirsty woman allows herself a snack only once (rarely two) a day. For her, this is a way to calm down and relieve stress. It is those who are thirsty who like to sit down in front of the TV after a hearty lunch with a plate of sandwiches or cookies - they “eat up” troubles, grievances or boredom.

  3. If you always agree to offers from colleagues or acquaintances to treat you to something tasty, then you can safely classify yourself in the third group - Opportunity Lovers. You don’t even notice that you ate an unplanned chocolate bar or a piece of pizza. And, like all Lovers, she is too susceptible to temptation and easily succumbs to the influence of other people.

Have you decided? Next - tips on how to “kill the worm” without harming your health.

It is better for the sheep not to fight the desire to chew something, but to refuse main meals (with the exception of breakfast). All the same, you won’t have time to get properly hungry either for lunch or dinner. But you should forget about the chips. Carry a few healthy snacks with you so that when you want to munch, you always have a choice. And replace all the “fatty temptations” in the refrigerator with low-calorie food - this way you won’t gain extra pounds. Choose foods high in fiber (fresh fruits, vegetables, popcorn) that will keep you full for a long time.

A thirsty person first needs to pay attention to her daily routine. After all, a snack for her is not just a way to satisfy her hunger, but rather an opportunity to pass the time with a pleasant activity. Therefore, give preference to those activities that cannot be combined with food. For example, knitting or exercises on machines.

Is an intimate conversation with a friend inseparable from a feast for you? Then try to break this stereotype. Make appointments not in a cafe, but, say, at an exhibition. At home, instead of the traditional Russian tea party with pies and jam, have a Chinese one - no snacks are required for green tea. For the evening, oriental gymnastics and meditation are recommended. Such exercises cannot be performed on a full stomach. This is on the one hand. On the other hand, classes will help relieve stress or dissolve resentment, and you will no longer need to “eat up” misfortunes with sweets.

If you're just hungry at an inopportune time, choose a light snack. And less sweets!

A lover of occasions should understand: constant readiness to taste someone’s treat is not at all a sign of politeness. To control yourself, you need to master simple rules. When going to the buffet, have a light snack at home. And in general, carry a set of low-calorie snacks with you - then it will be much easier for you to reject tasty offers. If you do overeat, don’t panic and don’t scold yourself. Just do your best the next day to burn off the extra calories, - Go for a walk or do more exercise while exercising.

As you can see, nothing
